About the role

The primary purpose of this position is to instruct and supervise a diverse group of children by establishing a positive, respectful learning environment, providing ample and varied learning opportunities, and promoting high standards of performance for all students regardless of their background and developmental levels.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to support academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective instructional strategies and assessments.
  • Engage in professional development to stay current with educational research and best practices.
  • Support students' social-emotional development through classroom management techniques and individualized attention.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bilingual - Spanish speaking required.
  • ESOL Endorsement preferred (or in progress of completing).

Qualifications

  • Valid Oregon teacher's license with appropriate endorsement and grade level authorization.
  • Must be highly qualified or able to become highly qualified in area assigned according to NCLB laws.
  • Understanding of human growth and development patterns, learning theory, and brain research.
  • Content knowledge in subject areas taught.
  • Familiarity with a variety of age-appropriate instructional, assessment, and behavior management strategies that reflect current research on best practices.
  • Familiarity with state standards and curriculum frameworks for elementary grade levels.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents/guardians.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.

Benefits

  • Retirement contribution through the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP).

Pay

$52,980 to $99,204 with benefits, salary based on 2025-2026 schedule - salary will change based on bargaining agreement.

Schedule

Corvallis School District operates on a 191-day school year calendar.
