Position Description

The Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals SF/Oakland is recruiting neonatal hospitalists. Appointment will be made at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the Adjunct, Clinical X, or Health Sciences (HS) Clinical faculty series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.

Clinical Opportunities

  • Providing care in the Level IV Intensive Care Nursery at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals
  • Independent management of lower-acuity patients
  • Supervised care of high-acuity patients
  • Neonatal resuscitations
  • Participation in the neonatal transport team (depending on candidate interest)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent)
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in California
  • Board eligibility or certification in Pediatrics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in academic pediatrics
  • Experience supervising and teaching medical students, residents, or fellows

Salary Range

  • For positions that are 51% effort or more: The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $114,100-$344,400.
  • For positions that are 50% effort or less: See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $81,500-$246,000.
