Division Head of Behavioral Neurology

About the role

The Division Head of Behavioral Neurology will lead clinical and research programs in aging, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease at Henry Ford Medical Group’s Department of Neurology. The position involves expanding clinical trials, elevating the Henry Ford Center for Cognitive Health, and conducting population-based epidemiological studies and clinical trials in Behavioral Neurology.

Responsibilities

• Assume the Paul C. Alandt Endowed Chair of Behavioral Neurology to support efforts towards reducing the burden of dementia and related neurodegenerative conditions.
• Provide visionary leadership to expand the robust clinical trials unit to include government and industry-funded trials in Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders.
• Elevate the Henry Ford Center for Cognitive Health, focusing on early diagnosis and intervention for Alzheimer’s disease.
• Provide direct patient care and educational endeavors including a teaching role with medical students and Neurology and Psychiatry residents as well as Neuropsychology and Behavioral Neurology fellows.

Requirements

• Must be board certified in Neurology.
• Must have completed or currently completing a Behavioral Neurology Fellowship.
• A proven track record of successful, high impact funded clinical research is desired.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a multidisciplinary team including a behavioral neurologist, geriatric psychiatrists, an advanced practice provider, social workers, and an infusion nurse coordinator.
• Leadership experience in expanding clinical trials units and conducting population-based epidemiological studies and clinical trials.
• Experience in collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and conducting research in Alzheimer's disease and related neurodegenerative disorders.
