Position Purpose

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer of Acute Services, and as a member of the Renown Medical Group (RMG), the Division Chief - Pulmonary - Critical Care will work directly and jointly with the providers in Outpatient Pulmonary, Outpatient Sleep Medicine and South Meadows Pulmonary/Critical Care.

Nature and Scope

This position is responsible for leading Renown Health’s Outpatient Pulmonary, Outpatient Sleep Medicine and South Meadows Pulmonary/Critical Care Lines that focuses on the continuum of care from wellness to end of life. The role will be instrumental in developing a patient centered approach that will drive practices, strategies, and performance of the Pulmonary Service Line within the CIHN. This role serves as a leader of the provider reporting structure for the pulmonologists, sleep physicians, advanced practice clinicians and South Meadows Pulmonary/Critical Care providers, and will be required to work with administrative and physician leadership to drive performance including but not limited to patient experience, clinical outcomes, utilization, transformational healthcare, and financial outcomes.

Direct Reports

  • Physicians and/or advanced practice clinicians within the Department of Outpatient Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine and South Meadows Pulmonary/Critical Care.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Facilitate initiatives that fall in line with the CIHN strategies for the Pulmonary Service Line.
  • Drive pulmonary clinical integration initiatives within the practice and coordinate throughout the Integrated Health Network for the items including but not limited to Accountable Care, Medical Home Privation Order Sets & Pathways.
  • Work directly with the Administrator of Specialty Services to create a premier Pulmonary Service Line for Renown Health and the community.
  • Address disruptive Provider behavior from a Renown Health and organized medical staff perspective.
  • Provide direct patient care.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree from an accredited Medical School required.
  • Advanced degree in business desirable.
  • Minimum of three to five years leadership experience in acute health care facility and/or an integrated health network. Preference given to those candidates with previous medical leadership experience with an integrated health network.
  • Must possess and maintain a current and valid State of Nevada Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) medicine license. Controlled substance License to Prescribe issued by the State of Nevada and Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the DEA, required.
  • Board Certification in Pulmonary Disease issued through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and Board Certification in Critical Care Medicine issued through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Certification Life Support (ACLS) required. Prefer American Heart Association (AHA) approved certification, but will accept online certification from American Red Cross Training Services, Advanced Medical Certification, or ACLS Certification Institute.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
  • Ability to credential through Renown's Medical Staff and/or payor credentialing, as applicable.
