About the role
D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., is seeking a Division CFO. The right candidate will establish internal controls surrounding the sales, purchasing, construction, land development, AP, job starts, and closing process, and review for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Responsibilities
- Maintain ultimate responsibility for providing timely and accurate financial information and the five-year business plan to the Division President and Region/Corporate, ensuring corporate policies and procedures are carried out.
- Oversee all aspects of the division’s homebuilding operations, interacting with all departments to determine if current policies are efficient and promote the division’s well-being.
- Ensure all appropriate division personnel are adequately trained and understand how to utilize the JD Edwards system.
- Establish efficient policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Ensure the accuracy of the division’s financial reporting processes, including monthly book closures and financial statements that reflect operations.
- Ensure all potential land deals meet corporate, regional, and division requirements.
- Monitor development and S&B budgets to verify adequate backup and investigate subsequent changes.
- Conduct business professionally and ethically to serve customers and increase company goodwill and profit.
- Travel overnight as required.
- Ensure personnel understand company philosophy and avoid unnecessary spending.
- Analyze, improve, and implement new policies and procedures to keep up with technology enhancements and efficient operations.
- Supervise 2 or more employees.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent.
- Seven to ten years of related experience and/or training.
- Proficiency with MS Office and email.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in the home building industry.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
