Division Billing Analyst
Responsibilities
Collaborate with various departments and regional staff to ensure accurate data is captured within our systems to maximize revenue and minimize expense exposure.
Conduct audits of waybills confirming accurate capture of revenue and expenses associated with the maneuvers of the operations of the railroad.
Advise and provide remedial recommendations to other departments when waybill, equipment movement history and/or rate discrepancies are identified.
Maintains customer accounts including investigation of payment discrepancies.
Investigates unrated transactions in ISS and communicate with internal teams for resolution.
Able to interpret and understand railroad contracts related to application of rates.
Cross trains with Commercial Support to assist in the TMS charge code maintenance.
Monitors for proper funds settlement with other railroads.
Aids in the closing procedures of monthly revenue accounts.
Performs other tasks as directed, including special projects.
Requirements
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong computer skills, with emphasis in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Able to complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Able to quickly learn PowerBI, CRM, Advance Analytics, and other data related tools.
Experience with pricing, tariffs, commercial regulations, and marketing.
In-depth understanding of interline settlement (ISS) and railroad accounting rules & procedures.
TMS, And RMS Or Similar Systems Experience.
Highly Preferred: Knowledge or use of Rate EDI Network (REN), RailConnect Contract Management (RCM).
Exceptional organizational skills.
Knowledge of D365 a plus.
Able to establish priorities and manage multiple activities to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
