Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Review the scope of work and provide accurate estimates for bids.
- Update detailed costs as necessary.
- Interpret construction specifications and discuss requirements with customers or architects to ensure clarity and accuracy.
- Enter applicable information into a door software such as Software for Hardware, pricing jobs based on specified products.
- Review contract documents (purchase orders, plans, specifications) to accurately detail quantities required for projects.
- Create rough pricing, takeoffs, and proposals.
- Verify product costs and determine the best product selections.
- Record costs during the scheduling process and compare them to estimated costs.
- Create shop drawings, schedules, and submittals using manufacturer catalog cuts to support selected products.
- Compile and update shop drawings provided by manufacturers as required.
- Ensure project specifications meet local code requirements and note any exceptions.
- Review schedules and submittals for errors or issues that could impact the project prior to approval submission.
- Compare material quotes against schedules and shop drawings.
- Source all materials to POs as requested by the project manager and transmit PO and supporting documents to vendors.
- Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in division.
- Proficiency in a door software program such as Software for Hardware is preferred but not required.
- Able to use Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in blueprint/plan reading and specification interpretation.
- Detail-oriented, deadline-conscious, and goal-driven.
- Capable of managing various types of projects.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Proficient in industry-related software such as Software for Hardware and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.
