Job Description

The Diversified Technician provides basic nursing care to patients according to predefined guidelines, a plan of care established by a Registered Nurse, and under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse; the CDC Guidelines for Infection Control; and Singing River Health System Department of Nursing Plan for Provision of Care, Treatment and Services. They function as a member of the nursing unit team by performing routine clerical and receptionist duties as designated by the Nurse Manager, Patient Care Coordinator or Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic nursing care to patients according to predefined guidelines and the plan of care established by a Registered Nurse.
  • Perform routine clerical and receptionist duties as designated by the Nurse Manager, Patient Care Coordinator, or Registered Nurse.
  • Work under the supervision of Registered Nurses and follow CDC Guidelines for Infection Control and Singing River Health System Department of Nursing Plan for Provision of Care, Treatment and Services.
  • Function as a member of the nursing unit team.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate from a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) program preferred.
  • Hospital / healthcare experience and/or on-the-job training may be accepted in lieu of formal education.
  • Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
  • Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days).
  • Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
  • Experience working in an Emergency Department preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be certified in Mississippi as a Nursing Assistant.
  • Must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.

Skills

  • Superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in complex situations.
  • Customer service skills and professional etiquette.
  • Proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer and other office technology.
  • Appropriate clinical judgment and professional skills to a patient population of all ages.
