Job Description
Performs direct patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician in the Emergency Department within his/her scope of practice.
Skills And Abilities
- Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
- Provides care that is appropriate to and respectful to patient’s age, culture, and spiritual needs
- Strong priority-setting and organizational skills
- Deals effectively interdepartmentally and with the public
- Able to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
- Reads, writes legibly, and converses effectively in the English language
- Exhibits the ability to make effective decisions based on verifiable and measurable data/criteria
- Demonstrates initiative and problem solving skills using sound judgement
Education/Certifications/Licenses/Degrees
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
- SAFE class or organization approved workplace violence training or obtain within 6 months of hire which must be obtained by the last day of the month after the 6 month grace period
- EMT Basic certification
- Recent Emergency Department Technician
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant 2 in the State of Oregon
- Completion of second term Nursing Curriculum
- Paramedic experience (within the last two years) preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience
- Recent (within past two years) hospital experience preferred
- Phlebotomy experience preferred

Compensation
Minimum $21.38 USD, Maximum $31.73 USD (This represents the rate for an individual with significant experience in this job)
Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements
- Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach and stretch frequently
- May be required to lift up to 75 lbs
- Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids
- Requires significant use of computer, phone and general office equipment
