Pay
Pre-School, District Wide/Intensive Needs: $19.94 - $27.27 per hour. Placement is based on relative prior experience.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Title 1 Schools require Highly Qualified Status that includes either:
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent two years of college,
- Bachelor’s degree, or
- Paraeducator II certification from the NH Department of Education.
Responsibilities
- Instructional Paraeducator (Title 1, Kindergarten, ELL, Special Education):
- Under the direction of the classroom teacher, assist in implementing and reinforcing the instructional curriculum.
- Help prepare and administer testing.
- Provide input to teachers, guidance counselors, and school administration regarding student performance.
- Pre-School Paraeducator:
- Assist with students in the classroom by planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum for assigned age groups.
- Technical Paraeducator (Job Coach, Alternative Room, Science, Computer, Graphic Arts, Health Occupations):
- Assist students in day-to-day operations of the assigned program by helping with assignments using provided materials and technology.
- District Wide Special Education Paraeducator:
- Under the direction of the classroom teacher, assist with implementation of IEP goals and objectives pertaining to educational needs, social-emotional and behavioral development, and fine and gross motor skills to foster independence.
- Assist with the physical and minimal health needs of children, which may include lifting, feeding, toileting/diapering, and personal hygiene.
