Duties and Responsibilities
- Solicits sales of used trucks marketed by the Company to potential prospects and customers.
- Maintains market penetration as required by Department Manager or District Manager.
- Affords assistance in identifying what model and componentry will suit the customer's needs.
- Creates and submits proposals for used truck sales, identifying models, componentry specification, condition, and pricing to customer for acceptance.
- Collaborates with the Department Manager and District Manager on all Truck Sales.
- Completes all necessary paperwork for submission of used truck sales through the Company’s Sales Administration channels.
- Tracks all sales and inventory movement through updates in the Inventory Management program.
- Affords assistance in compiling paperwork necessary for closing of sale, including payment documentation, licensing and titling.
- Coordinates closing with Finance Manager and Office Management.
- Proactively markets our internal F&I offerings including extended warranties as part of all used sales deals.
- Affords assistance with any problems which may arise in connection with the sale of the equipment.
- Maintains courteous and continuing relations with customer base and working knowledge of customer base industries and equipment needs.
- Affords assistance with creating a territory call route to include follow-up, cold calls and general prospecting of new customers.
- Promotes the sale of Company parts and service.
- Facilitates communication between customers and other departments.
- Maintains a superior level of knowledge and expertise in the trucking industry.
- Attends training courses and seminars as required by supervisor.
- Maintains and assists with updating and advertising current inventory.
- Communicates with office staff and Department Manager regarding location and availability.
- Ensures that all used trucks are maintained on the branch lot; this includes occasional start up and inspecting its overall appearance and condition.
- Coordinates repairs and improvements needed with Department Manager and District Manager.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English instructions and information.
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Sales experience in truck sales or related field.
- Familiarity with the trucking industry, computer systems, current software, and large databases.
- Broad knowledge of used Medium and Heavy Duty, Class 7 and 8 trucks and their components.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License preferred, and good driving record required.
- Professional personal appearance.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organization skills.
