About the Role

As a Penske District Service Manager (DSM), you will build a team that connects their work to what motivates them and department goals. You will drive results through your team’s performance to ensure a high degree of effectiveness and customer experience across multiple facilities. The DSM ensures all district locations are properly resourced and adhere to policies and procedures by directly supervising Branch Service Managers (BSMs). You will also manage hiring, training, and development, and provide input to the District Manager (DM) on fleet, expenses, and improvement opportunities. This position is located at the Penske facility at 22 Jacks Bridge Road in Londonderry, NH.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management and administration of multiple locations across the district
  • Implement and manage consistent policies and procedures
  • Conduct Location Reviews
  • Lead through various communication channels such as in-person meetings and conference calls
  • Ensure flawless execution of company processes
  • Respond to customer operational inquiries
  • Develop technical training and development plans
  • Enhance customer experience
  • Control costs and ensure process compliance
  • Maximize warranty recovery
  • Perform fleet review, consulting, and planning
  • Conduct root cause analysis and proactive planning
  • Maintain relationships with approved suppliers
  • Mentor, coach, and lead a maintenance team
  • Analyze data
  • Complete other projects and tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of maintenance and leadership experience preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
  • In-depth knowledge of all vehicle components including: engine, drive train, air-brakes, cooling systems, electrical systems, accessories, suspension, and tires
  • Associate/Technical degree preferred; BS/BA a plus
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint a plus
  • Quality program certification (Six Sigma, ISO) a plus
  • Truck Marketing Institute, OEM, and technical training courses a plus

Compliance & Safety

  • Understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Penske management
  • Perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies, including correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel as necessary and work at the specified location
  • Complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening
  • This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety-sensitive; ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required
  • Accept responsibility for your own safety and the safety of others

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods
  • Routine and daily use of hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, or operate tools and controls
  • Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated working platforms
  • Work safely in all weather conditions
  • Navigate the work environment safely, given frequent movement of large trucks
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
