Position Responsibilities
- Deliver in-field coaching to technicians during live repair work to improve diagnostic skills, repair quality, and execution discipline
- Reinforce standardized diagnostic processes, including root cause analysis and repair verification, to reduce repeat repairs
- Partner with branch leadership to align technician development with operational goals such as first-time-fix rates and efficiency
- Track technician progress, identify skill gaps, and adjust coaching plans to support ongoing development
- Maintain a strong field presence while providing feedback, insights, and recommendations to improve service performance
Position Requirements
- 3-5 years of management level experience in shop and service management, within the construction equipment rental industry is preferred
- Extensive experience as a senior-level technician with advanced troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Proven ability to coach and develop technicians in field or shop environments
- Strong knowledge of construction equipment systems, repair practices, and safety standards
- Able to read and interpret technical schematics and translate complex issues into practical guidance
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to influence without direct authority
- Able to work independently in field environments with frequent travel between locations
