Key Responsibilities
- Drive Sales Growth & Market Expansion
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Outside Sales Representatives to achieve and exceed sales, gross profit, and market share goals.
- Build and execute district sales strategies that drive both organic growth and new customer acquisition.
- Identify opportunities to expand NEFCO's presence within existing accounts while aggressively pursuing new business.
- Conduct regular field visits and ride-alongs to provide coaching, support, and accountability.
- Partner with sales representatives to develop territory plans, key account strategies, and growth initiatives.
- Maintain a strong personal presence in the field through customer visits, prospect meetings, and relationship-building activities.
- Drive adoption and utilization of NEFCO's digital tools and e-commerce platform.
- Collaborate with vendor partners on joint sales calls, product training, and growth opportunities.
- Monitor sales activity, CRM utilization, pipeline development, and performance metrics.
- Lead and Develop Talent
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain top-performing sales professionals.
- Create a culture of accountability, coaching, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations, goal-setting discussions, and career development planning.
- Develop future sales leaders through mentorship and ongoing training.
- Reinforce NEFCO's values and customer-first culture throughout the district.
- Partner with Branch Operations
- Work closely with Branch Managers and Operations Leaders to ensure exceptional customer service and operational execution.
- Align branch activities with district sales goals and customer expectations.
- Support margin improvement initiatives, inventory management, delivery performance, and overall operational efficiency.
- Partner with leadership to identify staffing, training, and process improvement opportunities.
- Ensure seamless communication between outside sales, inside sales, and operations teams.
- Customer & Business Leadership
- Serve as a trusted partner to key customers and strategic accounts.
- Aid in resolving customer concerns and service challenges while maintaining strong relationships.
- Support collections efforts and account management activities when necessary.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of NEFCO's products, services, and market opportunities.
- Represent NEFCO professionally with customers, vendors, and industry partners.
- Safety & Compliance
- Champion NEFCO's commitment to safety throughout the district.
- Ensure all team members follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Lead by example by promoting a culture where safety is a core value.
- Support incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action efforts as required.
- 5+ years of successful outside sales leadership experience, preferably within construction supply, industrial distribution, building materials, or related industries.
- Proven track record of leading teams and delivering profitable sales growth.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and performance management skills.
- Experience developing new business and managing strategic customer relationships.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze sales performance and market opportunities.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned district.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- Consistently achieves district sales and gross profit targets.
- Grows market share and expands customer relationships.
- Develops high-performing Outside Sales Representatives.
