District Sales Manager - North Carolina/Virginia (Remote)
This is a remote-based role in North Carolina/Virginia. Ideal candidates would live in Charlotte NC, Raleigh NC, Greensboro NC, Roanoke VA, or Richmond VA and cover the entire state of North Carolina and Virginia.
About the role
The District Sales Manager (DSM) will lead and grow an established territory covering Factory Automation customers and channel partners. Join Emerson's Fluid Motion Control (FLMC) Salesforce in a fast-paced, performance-based environment with multicultural channel partners. The core Factory Automation portfolio includes Aventics, Numatics, and ASCO.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to exceed sales targets within the assigned territory.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities and market trends to drive revenue growth.
- Build and maintain a sales pipeline, focusing on new customer acquisition, opportunity creation, and closure.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay ahead of the competition.
- Actively engage channel partners to grow sales and market share; hold them accountable to sales targets, activity levels, and joint business development plans.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing key customers.
- Understand customer needs, provide technical expertise, and offer solutions aligned with their requirements.
- Address customer concerns promptly to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Prepare regular sales reports, including sales activity, customer feedback, and Factory Automation market trends analysis.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and participate in the annual budgeting process.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies related to Fluid Motion Control (FLMC).
- Collaborate with the FA Business Manager to align new product development with evolving market needs.
- Develop a deep understanding of the FLMC product portfolio supporting Industrial Automation industries such as Packaging, Automotive, and Specialty Machinery.
- Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to showcase the value proposition of Emerson’s products and solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industrial sales experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of related sales experience.
- Technical proficiency with the ability to understand technical issues and troubleshoot problems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport, establish trust, and close deals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Willingness and ability to travel 25% - 35%.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
- Salesforce experience.
- Automation sales experience.
- Mechanical, electrical, or fluid power technical aptitude.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 annually plus bonus, commensurate with skills, talent, capabilities, and experience.
