About the role
Weis Markets is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and executing recruiting strategies, conducting onboarding processes, and managing the hiring and training of new associates.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies, including planning meetings with HR Talent Manager and Store Managers.
- Lead the recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position, efficiently and effectively filling open positions.
- Conduct regular follow-up with managers to evaluate the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
- Build a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need, utilizing Workday’s recruitment tools.
- Post job openings, track candidate progress, and maintain accurate candidate records using Workday.
- Conduct initial screenings and interviews to assess candidate qualifications and fit.
- Identify and source candidates through various online and offline methods, including career fairs.
- Communicate regularly with managers and associates to establish rapport, gauge morale, and source new candidate leads.
- Create industry contacts and attend career fairs to stay informed about new opportunities.
- Implement the onboarding process, including scheduling tours, creating schedules for new hires, and setting up onboarding modules.
- Schedule and implement training plans for all newly hired associates, ensuring completion of LMS modules and hands-on training.
- Perform other special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business or Human Resource related field desirable.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in management in a retail/restaurant/supermarket environment.
