About the Role
Performs food preparation such as baking, cooking, heating, and serving duties to students and staff; maintains and cleans equipment and work areas according to established sanitation standards and regulations; and inspects food items to monitor quality and quantity.
Responsibilities
- Prepares (such as preps, bakes, cooks, heats) and packages food items for the purpose of providing general consumption by students and staff.
- Serves food and beverage items for the purpose of meeting mandated nutritional requirements and requests of students and staff both indoors and outdoors. This may include the use of mobile food and beverage carts.
- Stocks food items and supplies for the purpose of maintaining adequate quantities for food and supplies.
- Inspects food items and supplies for the purpose of verifying accurate quantities of deliveries and orders.
- Cleans equipment and work area for the purpose of maintaining facilities in a sanitary condition.
- Collects money for the purpose of completing meal transactions.
- Serves as a Cashier, collects monies, and provides correct change.
- Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.
- Follows California Retail Food Code (CalCode) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) procedures as directed.
- Maintains the kitchen, storeroom, and freezers in a neat and organized manner.
- Assists other staff for the purpose of providing support and back-up for their work assignments.
- May use district vehicle for the purpose of food delivery.
- Attends meetings and additional training as required for the purpose of updating and maintaining skills and for gathering or conveying required information.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- One (1) year of experience in food preparation, serving, and basic kitchen activities
- Food Handler’s Card
- Pass District Test
Pay
Classified Salary Schedule: $22.23 - $34.49 hourly (Step 30 A-J)

182 days / 3.5 hours per day (Part-Time)
