About the role

Bristol Culinary Management delivers custom culinary programs centered on scratch cooking, locally sourced food with a health and wellness approach to dining. As the District Culinarian, you will help secure growth and ensure customer services are managed correctly, overseeing overall management, food production, and operations for assigned kitchens.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a regimented, designed process as part of transition management and culinary team for opening new business at client facilities.
  • Train new Kitchen Managers and production staff on all required production systems and processes.
  • Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods through preparation and service to ensure established temperature goals are met and maintained.
  • Create and maintain excellent relationships with residents, Executive Directors, fellow department heads, and staff.
  • Adhere to KPI operational budget and complete reporting responsibilities on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Creatively collaborate with Dining Management on special events and menus.
  • Understand facility’s fire and disaster plans; follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.
  • Provide coaching and leadership to kitchen teams and peers.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience as an Executive Chef or Chef Manager.
  • Prior experience in dining service transitions and openings is preferred.
  • AA degree or equivalent in Food Science, Nutrition, Culinary Arts, or Hotel/Restaurant Management is highly desirable.
  • Computer knowledge and ability to work with food software programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM).
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in languages other than English, especially Spanish.

Work Environment

  • Involves being onsite 2-3 weeks for new openings.
  • Scheduling may require 10 days on and 4 days off, determined by support needs and business transition.
