About the role
The District Attendance Coordinator at Killingly Public Schools is a pivotal position that combines data analysis, relationship-building, communication, and outreach to enhance student attendance.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze district attendance data to identify trends and intervene with students needing support.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student attendance, including producing biweekly reports and collaborating with school-based teams.
- Support building attendance secretaries in maintaining consistent procedures and accurate data entry.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and community partners through regular communication and home visits.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, counselors, social workers, and support staff to remove barriers to attendance and work with the district's homeless liaison.
- Aid in student registration and enrollment, helping families navigate the process and connect them with relevant resources.
- Work closely with building administrators and support staff to ensure effective attendance management and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with families, schools, or community organizations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and solve problems.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between district schools and conduct home visits.
Pay
$55,000 - $59,450 annually with full benefits.
