Distribution Supervisor, 3rd shift

About the role
Provide day-to-day supervision for all operational activities related to picking and loading of orders; receipt and unloading of inbound orders; warehousing and storage of stock; housekeeping and sanitation; safety, security, and quality assurance for all work shifts in distribution. Manage drop trailer yard for accuracy and controls, including welcome center check-in/out processes. Ensure departmental compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Supervise department personnel to achieve accurate and complete orders for shipping, maximum labor efficiency, high quality standards, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision for the daily efforts in receiving, storing, and shipping of all finished products.
- Provide operational support to the Sales Coordinator to reconcile any customer complaints originating from the department.
- Support Distribution team efforts through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, and facilities.
- Responsible for rearranging stock layout to accommodate new product, consolidate existing product, and recommend improvements for efficient workflow.
- Coordinate, implement, teach, and participate in safety program activities to prevent or reduce accidents. Provide all required safety training.
- Establish and maintain housekeeping and sanitation practices consistent with federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct monthly inspections to ensure compliance.
- Assist the Manager in evaluating warehouse duties in shipping, receiving, order selecting, and clerical areas to reduce non-productive effort and increase productivity.
- Select, hire, train, and appraise warehouse personnel to attain high service standards and optimum productivity levels. Ensure compliance with published instructions and procedures through regular meetings covering safety, GMPs, etc.
- Ensure inventory accuracy by completing routine location audits, auditing outbound orders outside of customer-specific requirements, investigating shipping errors, and developing corrective actions.
- Oversee scheduling of all inbound and outbound shipments, maintain logs, and prepare necessary documents. Direct the work of shipping office clerical staff.
- Responsible for following all food safety policies, procedures, and regulatory criteria, including SQF code, GMPs, and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
- Other duties as assigned. Travel may be required.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Logistics, Logistics and Transportation, or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years of experience in Logistics, Logistics and Transportation.
- Supervisory experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
Skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of computer systems including Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, and JDE.
- Hands-on working knowledge of distribution, warehousing, and transportation disciplines.
- Efficient planning and organization skills; fosters cooperation and understanding among employees; effective at multitasking and prioritizing.

Pay
Base salary range: $71,144–$85,728. Annual bonus based on the incentive program terms and conditions.
Schedule
- Typical shifts are 8-12 hours per day.
- Additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may be required.
Physical Demands
- All jobs require sufficient physical strength and dexterity to perform required tasks, including intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more with assistance may be required.
- Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by Company policy and/or legal requirements.
- Certain jobs may require working outside and/or in adverse temperatures (extreme heat, cold, humidity), exposure to vibrations, chemicals, fumes, food allergens (including soy, dairy), confined or dark spaces, and heights in excess of 18 feet.
