Responsibilities
- Use a handheld computer to receive incoming and outgoing freight
- Pick products for customer orders and stage them for loading
- Load orders on semi-trucks and unload stock onto racking
- Inspect trucks for defects before and after trips and submit condition reports
- Check loads and secure them according to D.O.T. regulations
- Drive trucks safely and legally to customer locations and return
- Open curtains, unstrap product, count, and check for damage or shortages
- Assist receivers in unloading and loading the truck
- Maintain driver logs and inspection reports according to D.O.T. regulations
- Maintain a professional image at all times
- Obtain forklift certification to aid in loading, unloading, and general warehouse work
- Work a flexible schedule
Requirements
- Good to exceptional math skills
- Reading and comprehension skills
- Punctual, self-motivated, and reliable
- Exceptional customer service and organizational skills
- Class A CDL with air brake endorsement
- Ability to pass a D.O.T. physical and pre-employment drug test
- Ability to be forklift certified
Physical Demands
- Ability to hand lift 100 pounds occasionally and 70 pounds repetitively
- Products of 100 pounds or more are lifted with a forklift
- Able to obtain a D.O.T. medical card
Work Environment
- Exposure to all weather conditions
- Flexibility with hours and schedules, including work days of 10-13 hours during peak season
