The Distribution Center Team Lead oversees daily warehouse operations related to shipping, receiving, and inventory control. Key responsibilities include pulling, staging, verifying, loading, and shipping products for transfers, purchase orders, and customer orders, as well as receiving, put-away, location maintenance, and merchandising. The role ensures the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of product throughout the facility. Job Duties & Responsibilities Trains warehouse associates on receiving, shipping, and inventory control procedures Coordinates staffing and task assignments with the Manager to meet productivity and fulfillment goals Performs facility maintenance and participates in branch walkthroughs with corporate personnel Partners with the Manager to promote a safety-focused culture and ensure accountability Trains employees on safety protocols, conducts regular observations, and promptly addresses unsafe conditions or equipment issues Reports incidents, injuries, and near misses, while supporting accurate safety data collection and reporting Reviews inspection forms, communicates findings, and recommends safety improvements to management Manages the efficient receiving and put-away of incoming freight, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Ensures compliance with SOPs for Bills of Lading, damage documentation, and freight counts Monitors inbound shipments and promptly reports issues such as damages or vendor delays to the Manager Maintains accurate item locations in the warehouse management system and ensures corresponding physical labels are correct Communicates all location updates promptly to the Inventory Department Ensures accurate picking, packing, staging, and shipment of outbound orders Verifies proper truck loading and completion of daily shipping (“ship clean”) Confirms functionality of all relevant shipping technology and equipment Oversees timely and accurate handling of all transfers, including pulling, checking, loading, and receiving Ensures same-day system processing of shipped and received transfers Verifies accuracy of all outgoing transfers through double-check procedures Trains and certifies employees on safe PIE operation Ensures equipment is properly maintained, charged daily, and safe for use Promptly reports and addresses any PIE-related performance or safety issues Safety-sensitive position requiring consistent alertness and adherence to safe work practices Maintains proficiency in company systems for data entry, communication, and routine administrative tasks Performs other duties as assigned, with flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs and responsibilities Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent 3+ years of experience in warehousing, supply chain, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and transfer processes Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Physical Demands & Work Environment This full-time position may require 40+ hours per week and involves regular physical activity, including: Frequent lifting of 25–50 lbs., with occasional lifting up to 100 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 300 lbs.
