Distribution Center Team Lead

About the role
The Distribution Center Lead is responsible for helping supervise and perform other aspects of their department to facilitate workflow. In the absence of the Distribution Center Supervisor or Distribution Center Assistant Supervisor, this role will oversee aspects of the department and act as a team lead to a small group of employees focused on a limited task.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment; address safety concerns immediately
- Assist in leading, training, and coordinating work including delivery scheduling, inbound and outbound processes, safety requirements, and special customer requirements
- Oversee aspects of the department in the absence of the Distribution Center Supervisor or Distribution Center Assistant Supervisor
- Ensure knowledge of all department functions and processes
- Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment, maintaining the security of the Distribution Center and accurate inventory
- Ensure inbound and/or outbound shipments and products are accurate and free of damage
- Ensure that jobs are correctly implemented, assigned effectively, and completed properly
- Assist in maintenance and security of the Distribution Center
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 4+ years of distribution center or warehouse experience
- Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred
- High School diploma or GED preferred
