Key Responsibilities
- Receiving & Inventory
- Unload and coordinate the receiving of incoming shipments in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Verify physical deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading (BOLs), and other shipping documentation.
- Inspect incoming goods for visible damage, shortages, overages, and count discrepancies.
- Document damages and discrepancies accurately for reimbursement, reconciliation, and inventory purposes.
- Input receiving data and inventory tracking tags into the warehouse management system.
- Use handheld RF scanners and computer systems to record and track incoming inventory.
- Verify purchase orders after the unloader has signed the BOL and returned the appropriate packing slips.
- Remove or update any ATRs and POs that have not been properly signed off.
- Maintain accurate receiving records and paperwork.
- Appointment & Dock Coordination
- Schedule inbound delivery appointments.
- Create appointment numbers and add purchase orders to scheduled appointments.
- Record line counts and piece counts on the receiving schedule.
- Attach the appropriate ATR documentation once an appointment arrives.
- Handle driver paperwork and assign receiving doors for live unloads.
- Communicate information regarding drop trailers and available receiving doors.
- Communicate live unloads that are waiting to be processed.
- Verify receiving dock doors and conduct regular yard audits.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Follow the established E-BOL process daily and ensure outstanding E-BOLs are not more than one week old.
- Ensure all receiving documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
- Reconcile receiving paperwork and system information to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Communicate receiving issues, delays, damages, shortages, and other discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- At least 1 year of warehouse, logistics, receiving, or related experience preferred.
- Forklift or electric pallet jack certification is a strong plus.
- Basic computer literacy and experience using handheld RF scanners.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret purchase orders, packing slips, BOLs, and shipping records.
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. and periodically lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven warehouse environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain a high standard of safety, accuracy, and cleanliness.
- Moderate understanding of general warehouse and receiving operations.
