Distribution Center Parts Room Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain computerized data for efficient procurement of parts and insure proper inventory levels.
• Control distribution of all parts and other items related to the parts room.
• Perform all receiving and shipping duties that pertain to the maintenance department.
• Issue parts and other related items to production and maintenance employees in a timely manner.
• Communicate in simple English to receive instructions, interact with other employees, contact vendors, and understand repair manuals and work orders.
• Use and understand the MP2 maintenance software for efficient acquirement of parts and to insure the proper level of inventory items.
• Create Physical Inventory reports.
• Print Bar Codes.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Issue Stock and Non-Stock Requisition Forms.
• Comply with current Quality System requirements.
• Perform Hazardous waste training as required.
• Perform other work as assigned by Management including 5S cleaning.

Qualifications

• Physical Requirements: Occasionally required to work in extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid).
• Ability to climb ladders, squat, bend, and work in confined space.
• Must wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, respirator, safety glasses, and steel toed shoes, hearing protection, etc., as outlined in established department PPE policy.
• Must be able to do some heavy lifting up to 40 pounds.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Manufacturing/Industrial expereience.
• Some computer background (Excel, Word, etc.).
