About the role

Ferguson is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead planned maintenance and reactive repairs in one of our automated Distribution Centers. This role oversees skilled trades, including automation, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, utilities, and maintenance staff. The ideal candidate is a strategic problem solver with a record of proactive leadership, driving efficient operation and maintenance of all facility systems and site services. This role requires high standards in customer service, strong business sense, and a success record in motivating teams, crafting accountability, and optimizing quality and cost while improving the customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, and organization to direct reports through consistent mentoring, leadership improvement, and regular performance evaluations.
  • Lead and build partnerships with third-party vendors, service providers, and contractors to review SLAs and SOWs, identify and resolve service gaps, and supervise costs.
  • Establish and lead effective standards and procedures for operation and maintenance of all material handling and building systems within a Distribution Center, including power generation, automation, robotics, conveyance, HVAC, fire suppression, and plumbing systems.
  • Troubleshoot systems, conduct complete failure analysis, perform repairs, inspections, and planned maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Work with other departments to identify and facilitate building and equipment changes to meet evolving business demands.
  • Maintain a collaborative and positive relationship with all associates involved in ensuring successful facility operations.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times, ensuring quality customer service.
  • Abide by all company policies, rules, and regulations, including safety rules and procedures.
  • Support corporate programs, goals, and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Construction, Engineering, Facilities, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent skills and training.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Facilities Manager, Chief Engineer, Property Manager, or equivalent, with an emphasis on team development.
  • Technical knowledge of building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, equipment life cycles, and industry standards for maintenance.
  • Experience with material handling and packaging equipment, including Autostore, conveyance, boxing, and wrapping equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload while balancing multiple demands and meeting timelines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Proven focus on results in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner when serving internal customers, vendors, team members, and others.
  • Knowledge of all applicable code requirements and compliance with standard operation procedures and protocols (BOCA, NFPA, EPA, OSHA, state, and local regulatory agencies).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, building layouts, equipment specifications, schematics, and system drawings.
  • Confirmed knowledge of life safety and auxiliary power systems, fire pumps, HVAC systems, commercial plumbing, electrical and pneumatic controls, compressors, dryers, and conveyors.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, BMS/MMS systems, Tracer Summit controls, PLC, and Ladder logic.

Pay

Pay Range: $7,425.00 - $12,100.00 per month. This role is bonus or incentive plan eligible. The starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements.
