About the role

Reporting to the Distribution Center Supervisor, the Distribution Center Associate ensures all stock is accounted for, processed, and organized to maintain overall efficiency and operation of the Distribution Center. Daily tasks vary by location but focus on receiving, storing, and distributing products.

Responsibilities

  • Pick orders accurately and promptly
  • Pack orders for shipment
  • Receive inventory accurately and promptly
  • Restock inventory in designated storage areas
  • Load and unload trucks according to established procedures
  • Operate forklifts, hand trucks, or other equipment
  • Accurately identify and count inventory in assigned areas
  • Maintain quality and quantity performance and production standards
  • Participate in ongoing general housekeeping of the Distribution Center
  • Check assigned equipment for proper operation and report problems to supervision
  • Follow safe work habits and established safety procedures
  • Participate in safety initiatives as assigned
  • Attend meetings and training sessions
  • Perform other Distribution Center tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Entry-level work experience
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, including computerized bar code scanners, printers, and warehouse tools
  • Basic math and reasoning skills
  • Excellent work ethic and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment under supervision
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, pull, and push during an entire work shift
  • Ability to climb stair/step ladders up to 16 steps, bend, stoop, crouch, and kneel
  • Ability to be on your feet for 8 hours a day

Qualifications

  • Previous experience picking orders with an RF scanner is preferred
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, hand trucks, and cranes, is a plus

Work Environment

The role is performed in a distribution center environment with temperature conditions prevalent at the time. Noise levels are consistent with those of a typical distribution center.
