Position Summary

The Dispensary Supervisor is responsible for leading daily retail operations while ensuring full compliance with all Ohio Division of Cannabis Control (DCC) regulations. This position serves as the Manager on Duty during assigned shifts and is responsible for coaching employees, driving sales performance, maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting customer service initiatives, and creating a culture centered around accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Success in this role requires balancing compliance, guest satisfaction, leadership, and business performance.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the Team
    • Coach, develop, and motivate Budtenders
    • Conduct daily shift huddles focused on sales, promotions, compliance, and service
    • Deliver real-time coaching using observation and feedback
    • Absorb and train new employees
    • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture
    • Recognize employee achievements while addressing performance concerns professionally
  • Deliver an Exceptional Guest Experience
    • Ensure every guest receives friendly, educational, and compliant service
    • Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally
    • Support sales initiatives while maintaining ethical cannabis recommendations
    • Promote loyalty enrollment, customer education, and product knowledge
    • Monitor wait times and customer flow throughout the day
  • Drive Operational Excellence
    • Open and close the dispensary following company SOPs
    • Supervise daily cash handling and register accountability
    • Maintain inventory movement, replenishment, quarantined inventory, and vault organization
    • Complete daily operational checklists
    • Maintain merchandising standards and compliant promotional displays
    • Cook with Inventory Management on cycle counts and discrepancy investigations
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Maintain strict compliance with: Ohio Revised Code Chapter 3780, Ohio Administrative Code 1301:18, Division of Cannabis Control regulations, Metrc inventory requirements, and Company Standard Operating Procedures
  • Business Performance
    • Partner with leadership to improve store performance by monitoring: Average Order Value (AOV), Units Per Transaction (UPT), Loyalty enrollment, Customer satisfaction, Labor efficiency, Inventory accuracy, Sales trends, Employee productivity
  • Performance Expectations (KPIs)
    • Successful Supervisors consistently demonstrate: Guest Experience - Guest Satisfaction Score: 95% or higher, Google Review engagement, Professional conflict resolution, Exceptional customer service observations, Sales Performance - Support store AOV goals, Support UPT goals, Coach effective product recommendations, Increase attachment sales through education, Operational Excellence - Inventory accuracy, Timely completion of operational checklists, Accurate cash handling, Daily inventory discrepancy follow-up, Zero preventable compliance violations, Leadership - Complete weekly coaching sessions, Conduct daily team huddles, Achieve 95%+ employee training completion, Maintain positive employee engagement, Develop future leaders through coaching

Requirements

  • Required Minimum age of 21 years
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum two years of retail leadership experience
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Cannabis dispensary leadership experience
  • Dutchie POS experience
  • Metrc inventory management experience
  • Inventory control experience
  • Scheduling experience
  • Experience leading teams of 10+

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Lift up to 25 pounds
  • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Navigate a secure retail environment

Compliance Requirements

  • Background investigation
  • Fingerprinting
  • Required Compliance Training
  • Continued adherence to all state cannabis regulations
