Dispensary Inventory Lead

About the role

This full-time Inventory Lead position is based at the dispensary located at 44th St, with operating hours Monday through Saturday, 9am - 9pm. The role involves monitoring the store’s inventory and compliance with state and local laws, overseeing store operations in cooperation with management, and actively driving sales by guiding customers through product selection.

Responsibilities

• Track, receive, and log incoming products into METRC/BioTrack in a timely and accurate manner.
• Meet or exceed individual sales targets and conversion rate goals using effective sales techniques.
• Train team members on SOPs related to intake, packaging, labeling, and inventory tracking.
• Verify product deliveries against manifests; report and escalate discrepancies to management.
• Package and label customer orders in compliance with state cannabis regulations and company standards.
• Maintain a database with SKU/UPC numbers; ensure reconciliation is completed, matching physical inventory to METRC inventory.
• Independently open and close the store.
• Ensure the waiting room and sales floor are well maintained and properly stocked, delegating tasks as needed.
• Maintain product knowledge and stay updated on current cannabis trends.
• Accurately use and maintain point of sale (POS) systems, and perform daily cash management responsibilities.
• Actively participate in management and store meetings, offering suggestions for employee development and sales opportunities.
• Perform cycle counts daily, weekly, and monthly as needed.
• Create and maintain inventory reports for all products on hand.
• Confirm accurate product information is entered into POS and displayed correctly on ecommerce menus.
• Record and monitor all items with shelf-life daily; notify management of expired or damaged material.
• Organize and maintain backroom inventory areas for efficient storage and handling.
• Maintain compliance with local and state regulations, company policies, and SOPs.
• Ensure all employees adhere to company policies and act as store representative in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.

Requirements

• 2+ years’ experience in inventory management.
• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
• Experience with POS systems and inventory tracking systems; METRC experience preferred.
• Experience opening and closing a retail store or restaurant preferred.
• Excellent organization skills with a high attention to detail.
• Effective multi-tasker with demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; professional correspondence ability.
• Knowledge of state and local regulations preferred.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Ability to pass a background check and be 21 years of age.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain required state licenses based on work location.
