Dispatcher
About the role
The operation runs between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, and the selected candidate's shift will fall within those hours.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of daily routes and bus scheduling
- Dispatching buses and ensuring on-time route performance
- Counseling and coaching drivers and monitors
- Managing heavy phone and radio traffic
- Receiving scheduling concerns and driver complaints and reporting them to the Operations Supervisor or Contract Manager
- Serving as a primary communication liaison with the contracted customer
- Helping resolve student drop-off and pick-up concerns
- Auxiliary support for charter reservations, billing, or driver payroll
- Performing backup driving or miscellaneous clerical duties as required
- Completing special projects and additional assignments
- Supervising day-to-day transportation operations
Requirements
- Three to five years of relevant experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous terminal operations, dispatch, or professional driving experience
- Basic knowledge of radio-dispatch equipment
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Effective under deadlines and time constraints
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
