About the role

Ryan Brothers Ambulance by DocGo is seeking a Night Shift Dispatcher to join their team. DocGo is disrupting the traditional four-wall healthcare system by providing high-quality, affordable care through mobile health services, population health, remote patient monitoring, and ambulance services.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work and activities of EMTs and Paramedics.
• Conduct yourself in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner at all times when dealing with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and/or the public.
• Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls in CAD system.
• Provide top tier customer service to medical facilities, the public, and our employees.
• Gather and verify billing information including full patient demographics, insurance information, eligibility, and authorization required by insurance, medical necessity, and payers.
• Maintain professional demeanor in office and while on the phone with customers.
• Dispatch ambulances to scheduled runs to ensure appropriate medical level of transport care to area facilities.
• Intake a large call volume and triage to determine appropriate level of care and coordinate transport.
• Display knowledge of appropriate medical terminology and conditions.
• Perform other duties as required/assigned.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Ability to type 30+ words per minute with experience in data entry.
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Active listener with excellent communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to pivot work focus as priorities shift, based on the needs of the business.
• Tech-savvy with knowledge of computer aided dispatch software (CAD) (preferred).
• Proven experience as a dispatcher in a relevant field (preferred).
• EMS/Clinical background (preferred).
