Dispatcher
Job Summary
The Dispatch Representative works in the Dispatch Center to ensure timely product delivery while assisting customers with ordering quality concrete and building materials. This position is responsible for coordinating schedules of deliveries, which includes order taking, scheduling of orders, setting up deliveries, and effectively communicating with customers, drivers, and the sales team.

Responsibilities
- Obtains orders and changes to existing orders from customers and sales representatives
- Enters orders and printed tickets into the system
- Captures special jobs, service, and scheduling
- Coordinates with outside trucking subcontractors and by radio with drivers, service, and sales representatives
- Affords assistance with resolution of customer delivery issues and customer complaints
- Determines customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products
- Maintains proficiency and accuracy in data entry of customer orders
- Reviews orders in the system for proper mix design, travel times, and correct job start times; ensures customer-specific needs are met
- Manages time effectively, meets personal goals and works effectively with other members of the dispatch team
- Communicates with customers to provide up-to-date information regarding the company’s ability to meet delivery times
- Dispatch construction materials for multiple facilities; coordination of orders, trucks, and drivers
- Performs departmental clerical tasks including preparation of department reports and the ability to maintain dispatch/order desk records and data
- Able to work variable shifts depending on the scheduling of jobs, including some Saturdays
Requirements/Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to interact positively with a broad range of employees, customers, vendors, and contractors
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and dispatch systems
- Attention to detail and able to multi-task
Conditions of Employment
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
- Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing
