Dispatch - Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• Works alongside Customer Service and the Final Mile Manager to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time deliveries
• Keeps all parties informed of scheduling or delivery issues, identifying and implementing solutions
• Sets up drivers and vehicles for assigned destinations
• Oversees delivery teams and independent contractors for proper actions regarding customer, logistics or other problems affecting scheduled deliveries
• Maintains oversight of exceptions such as late departures or arrivals, breakdowns, in-home service time, NAH, go backs, accidents, product or in-home damages, delivery team illness or injury, HOS, unplanned billing, trends
• Monitors driver assignments and other shipping data in a computer database
• Organizes and files Proof of Deliveries (PODs) and driver’s documentation as needed
• Sends Proof of Delivery (POD) coversheets to finance department to review driver manifests
• Monitors inbound/outbound emails as well as attached Proof of Deliveries (PODs)

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1-3 years relevant logistics/dispatch experience collectively considered
• Previous knowledge of relevant policies, practices and procedures and requirements/standards
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, contractors, supervisors and the public requiring courtesy, discretion and independent judgment
• Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and reporting skills
• Knowledge of MS Office and other operational or client systems
• Detail-oriented, analytical problem-solver and ability to multi-task in a demanding environment, high-pressure, high-volume environment
