Program Coordinator I (Temporary)

This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered. About the role

This temporary position is located at 3921 Old Holly Springs in Wake County and is assigned to the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. Hourly rate of pay: $16.00 (based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and promote safe shooting activities and range operations for all patrons.
• Ensure the facility and range equipment are maintained at the highest standards as set by senior staff.
• Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operation Procedures (SOP).
• Monitor activity on the shooting lanes at all times.
• Call ranges “hot” and “cold” as needed.
• Assist patrons with appropriate range equipment instruction.
• Know and follow emergency response plans when required.
• Maintain and repair range facility and grounds including litter pick-up, target stand repair, and general range clean-up.
• Complete daily safety briefs for shooters and greet the public as they arrive.
• Maintain a productive relationship with established customers.
• Attend training as required.
• Work as a team player with all staff.
• Communicate in a professional and courteous manner with everyone.
• Maintain a well-groomed professional appearance at all times.
• Adhere to the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission policies and procedures.
• Authorized to close the range or temporarily cease activity if safety concerns warrant it or if the site needs maintenance.
• Authorized to require patrons to leave the range if they violate range rules or pose a threat to others.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of firearms of all types and their operation.
• Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
