Dispatch Supervisor 3rd Shift

Shift: 3rd    Division: Logistics    Reports To: Logistics Manager

Pay

Between $60,000/Year & $70,000/Year – Dependent on experience

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily driver duties, managing routes, timing, and conclusion of shifts
• Manage DOT compliance related to driver hours of service when assigning loads and daily tasks
• Interact with internal and external customers, including shift handoff communication to ensure seamless operations
• Enter POs as needed
• Participate in and initiate driver discipline per company policy
• Review driver documents for accuracy and compliance
• Select external carriers for loads as needed
• Assist with payroll to ensure drivers are accurately compensated
• Manage the fleet in a financially efficient and safe manner, balancing service and cost
• Coordinate fleet flow to lease vendor shops for repairs and maintenance, and manage road breakdowns
• Follow and enforce all safety policies for drivers and employees
• Complete incident investigation forms with full details for safety-related events
• Conduct periodic ride-alongs with drivers to understand their challenges and needs
• Supervise employees, including training, planning, assigning work, performance appraisals, discipline, conflict resolution, and team building

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two years of experience as a Dispatcher

Preferred Qualifications

• College or technical experience in Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain Management
• One year of supervisory experience managing at least five people
• Four years of experience in shipping, warehousing, or CDL truck driving

• Able to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
• Ability to apply common-sense reasoning to carry out instructions in written, oral, or graphic form
• Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
