About the role
This employee acts as a bridge between the local branch management team and the central dispatch department, driving timely completion of daily routing and dispatching duties as well as responsibilities within the Logistics Department.
Responsibilities
- Perform all MobileCast dispatching activities
- Route all same-day/next-day deliveries according to Logistics policy and procedures
- Communicate to branches regarding errors in addresses, time frames, and any other work order issues that negatively impact routing
- Update TIMS with customer notes and update work order ship dates as necessary
- Communicate to branches regarding issues that impact the Dispatcher’s ability to effectively route a work order to a driver in the field
- Monitor a driver’s progress during the day and communicate back to branches any issues related to missed time windows
- Monitor delivery staffing requirements based on order volumes and make appropriate adjustments to staff and/or process
- Review reports at the Central Dispatch level to monitor driver compliance with route order completion via MobileCast & Roadnet software
- Coordinate with Region management on action plans to ensure driver compliance with targeted financial objectives
- Comply with all regulatory compliance areas, policies, procedures, and "best practices" according to Logistics, DOT, ACHC, and local state labor laws
- Ensure patients do not suffer service failures and communicate with the servicing branch regarding undeliverable stops
- Demonstrate professional etiquette and courtesy when interfacing with customers and branches regarding routing issues
- Respond to telephone, fax, and email questions or problems from branches
