Dispatch Operator (Nights)

About the role
A typical day as the Logistics Dispatcher involves facilitating all inbound carriers based on the daily ship schedule. You’ll work closely with Warehouse/Logistics Supervisors, the guard shack, the customer service department, and Warehouse staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide courteous customer assistance to both internal and external customers.
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks within short timelines.
- Work effectively with team spirit at all levels of the organization.
- Print daily ship schedule and prepare all necessary paperwork for outbound loads (pick tickets, COAs, manifests, outgoing inspection sheets).
- Make adjustments to orders when product is damaged and notify Customer Service for inventory adjustment.
- Maintain driver schedules in accordance with scheduled dock times.
- Handle truck-driver check-in for order verification, dock assignments, sealing trucks, and load-out paperwork accuracy.
- Communicate all late or no-show trucks to Customer Service.
- Maintain inventory control of truck seals and manifests.
- Verify accuracy of completed paperwork, confirm it in SAP, scan to Customer Service, and electronically file to SharePoint.
- Assume leadership responsibilities, including problem-solving, recognizing workload variability, and adjusting staffing as needed.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Complete annual OSHA regulatory training, Company safety program training, and Food Safety overview training.
- Actively participate in your training and development program, including classes and events held before, during, after shifts, and on scheduled days off.
- Help coach and train teammates through on-the-job and buddy training.
- Prioritize food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing Hilmar Cheese Company’s policies and procedures.
- Hold self and others accountable to food-safety and sanitation guidelines by reporting any incidents or opportunities to leadership.
- Participate in food-safety and sanitation root-cause analysis and improvement activities when required.
- Prioritize safety above all other job duties, reporting any safety issues or opportunities to your team.
- Participate in departmental safety teams.
- Promote company culture and achieve common business goals through cooperative alignment with all departments.
Requirements
- Proficient English skills to understand, read, write, and speak.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- One year of recent inventory-control experience with MRO materials or a related field.
- Ability to lift 45 lbs.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- AA degree (or equivalent work experience) in Business Administration or a related field.

Pay
Salary Range: USD 23.29 – 27.74 per hour.
