About the role

Responsible for on time performance, order accuracy and maintaining and growing overall truck fleet while maintaining DOT compliance. Assist in growing the company’s hauler selection, DOT compliance, assure compliance with company policies, risk management, DOT and other regulatory requirements. Develop current customer base.

Responsibilities

• Act as customer contact for delivery inquiries and coordinate the sales order delivery process
• Manage incoming internal and external customer phone calls, exercising judgment within specification of standard practices
• Ensure customer understands all relevant company policies including will calls, additional products ordered and driver responsibilities
• Inform customer of warnings concerning product hazards, load limits, vehicle weights and limitations
• Schedule workforce (drivers) on a daily basis with the intention of maximizing service and minimizing costs; manage drivers and monitor efficiencies throughout day
• Review next day orders to ensure are correctly mapped, have accurate travel times, address and delivery instructions
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Additional Education Preferred: Associates degree
• Required Work Experience: 2-3 years of industry experience

Skills

• Must have refined computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the internet.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator
• Above average written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc)
• Professional telephone etiquette
• Short haul trucking background & phone solicitation skills

Physical Requirements

• Candidate must be able to sit for long periods
• Use common office tools and technology, such as cell/office telephone, calculator, and other electronic devices
• Use computerized equipment and highly sophisticated computerized devices
• Work in a stressful, deadline oriented environment that requires complex, technical information and decision making
• Strong analytical orientation
