Dispatch Coordinator

About the role

The Dispatching Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing daily dispatch operations, focusing on route optimization, communication with external customers, and assisting with coaching and development of the dispatch team.

Responsibilities

• Aid in overseeing daily dispatch operations for all markets
• Maintain customer service level agreements (SLA’s), manage customer portals, and enhance customer satisfaction
• Be proficient in all dispatch systems and adhere to operational best practices
• Develop and report on market-specific goals and metrics
• Review work orders and optimize routes considering geographic location, customer priorities, emergencies, parts, and key performance indicators (KPI’s)
• Support dispatchers during high call volumes or as needed
• Act as a liaison between operational partners, customers, and internal billing teams
• Train the dispatch team on systems and processes as required
• Perform other job-related and administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
• Proven experience as a dispatching coordinator
• Strong knowledge of dispatching operations, route optimization, and logistics
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and make informed decisions
• Proficiency in dispatching software and systems
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to remain composed and effective under pressure
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
