Responsibilities
- Cook up and oversee the daily dispatch of drivers and vehicles.
- Create, adjust, and manage delivery schedules and routes.
- Communicate with drivers to provide directions, updates, and support.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities and delivery information.
- Monitor and track the status of deliveries to ensure timely completion.
- Liaise with customers to provide delivery updates and address any issues.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Handle emergencies and unforeseen issues promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure adherence to all transportation and safety regulations.
- Tend to basic truck maintenance.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics is a plus.
- Proven experience in a dispatch or logistics role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations.
- Proficiency with dispatch and route planning software.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
