Dishwasher - Sun Diner, Nashville

About the role

Dishwasher will maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all cutlery, glassware, food machines, and kitchen areas. The ideal candidate believes in punctuality, assists other kitchen staff as needed, and follows all sanitary and health-related protocols.

Responsibilities

• Organize all dirty dishes, glassware, cooking utensils, etc. into the dishwasher
• Ensure the water in the dishwasher is changed on an hourly basis
• Roll/unroll mats to clean floors
• Operate the industrial dishwasher
• Wash glassware and other implements by hand when necessary
• Empty and clean all trash receptacles
• Clean iced tea, coffee, and other specified machines daily
• Rotate dishes to reduce wear and tear on resources
• Maintain clean dish storage and follow sanitation policies at all times
• Assist prep cooks and other kitchen staff, especially during peak times
• Perform opening, closing, and side work duties
• Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately
• Report any sanitation or janitorial issues to the appropriate party
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Position may be labor-intensive and require heavy lifting
• Ability to operate industrial machinery and carry loads up to 25 lbs
• Willingness to work in a hot, humid environment and stand for 8-hour shifts
• Must be able to sit, climb, stoop, kneel, and tolerate long periods on your feet
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
• Ability to multitask in a high-volume restaurant environment
