Dishwasher

Duties & Responsibilities

• Report to work in a neat and clean uniform with well-groomed hair and acceptable personal hygiene.
• Consistently report or shifts as scheduled and be on time.
• Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans, etc. by utilizing proper cleaning materials and methods.
• Operate dishwashing equipment.
• Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately.
• Assist food service staff with collecting dirty dishes and carts and returning them to the kitchen.
• Assists in cleaning complete dietary area.
• Washes and sanitizes food service carts, cooking area, etc.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Load run and unload dish machine.
• Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
• Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
• Complete all assigned side work by the end of your shift, check out with the manager before clocking out.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers using units of weight, measurement, and volume.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, or oral, form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in situations.
• Speak clearly and persuasively in both positive and negative situations. Listen and get clarification. Respond well to questions. Speak effectively with guests, coworkers and management.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
• Be able to frequently and safely lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Be able to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time.
• Be physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop.
