About the role

As a Garage Door Designer at Precision Garage Door Service, you'll receive training to quickly get up and running with your own company vehicle and customer flow. We provide all the tools necessary to grow your career as far as you want to take it. You'll be at the forefront, helping customers by repairing, replacing, and installing garage doors, ensuring they fully understand their service options for a correct job.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and install garage door parts and equipment on-site at customer locations.
  • Diagnose and repair garage doors, door operators, replace worn or broken parts, install new equipment including doors, and replace springs.
  • Educate customers by explaining their repair options and preventive measures in detail. Review completed work with customers to ensure they understand the job done.
  • Sell services, repairs, and new equipment using our proven model (good/better/best) and collect payments from customers.
  • Manage inventory in your vehicle to ensure you have the right equipment, tools, and products for sales and repairs.
  • Maximize your time by fully addressing customer needs, offering the best solutions, and managing your schedule to assist as many clients as possible—this helps you control your income.
  • Ensure high-quality work that meets standards the first time.
  • Impress customers to earn enthusiastic feedback.
  • Commit to safety in driving and on-the-job tasks.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds independently.
  • Capability to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in heat and cold, both outdoors and in garages without temperature control.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and resolve problems.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability and ability to follow our customer service process.
  • Basic computer/tablet skills; comfort with technology.
  • Ability to use hand tools and operate mechanical equipment.

Experience in the garage door industry is preferred but not required—we provide full training.
