Discovery Program Paraprofessional

About the role

The Discovery Paraprofessional supports students on the Autism Spectrum in a Christ-centered learning environment. This role partners with the lead teacher to provide academic, behavioral, and classroom support.

Responsibilities

• Support students with autism spectrum disorders in academics, behavior, and classroom settings.
• Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualized educational plans.
• Provide emotional support and foster a positive, engaging, and nurturing classroom atmosphere.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with students on the Autism Spectrum preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families.
• Passion for Christian education and a commitment to supporting student growth.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Background check required.
