Job Description Summary
We’re looking for a Waiver Services Specialist Supervisor to lead a strong team and help make sure waiver services are accurate, timely, and centered on the people we serve. Join the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and help support individuals across the state who are aging or who have physical disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, or intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and professional experience in: education, psychology, social work, sociology, human services, or a related field; and experience within a specialized developmental disabilities service system in the delivery of habilitation and/or case management services. Experience leading, coordinating, directing, monitoring, and/or supervising others.
- Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Nebraska’s Aged & Disabled or DD service systems, statutes, and waiver processes. Experience supervising in a health or human services setting. Knowledge of Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waivers. Experience with Therap, NFocus, and Microsoft Office programs.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Strong knowledge of HCBS Waivers and community-based support systems
- Skill in coaching teams, managing performance, and problem-solving with empathy and efficiency
- Able to interpret regulations, analyze medical/functional documentation, and make eligibility determinations
- Effective communication, time management, and organizational abilities
- A passion for supporting individuals to live full, self-directed lives in their communities
