Disability Services Coordinator
About the role
The Disability Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring equitable access for students with disabilities through the review and approval of disability documentation and the coordination of necessary accommodations.
Responsibilities
- Review incoming disability documentation, ensuring it appropriately describes a student’s medical/mental health need to engage in the accommodations process.
- Determine reasonable accommodations that provide equitable access for the student based on relevant disability law.
- Meet with students to arrange accommodations and appropriately address follow-up needs and concerns from students, faculty, staff, and parents.
- Support test proctoring operations at the direction of the ODS Testing Coordinator.
- Responsible for administrative support which includes, but is not limited to, providing organization of the front office, stock supplies, and is a first-line backup for phone calls and visitor greeting.
- Hire, train, supervise, and support 4-6 undergraduate student office assistants.
- Aid in procurement of materials in accessible formats/manually convert materials to accessible formats when needed.
- Work with internal/external providers to schedule and coordinate contracted services (Real-time captioning, Sign Language Interpreting, Notetaking, etc.).
- Act as liaison for identified campus partners to assist in appropriate cross-campus collaboration efforts.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience.
- Excellent critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage time and multiple, disparate responsibilities simultaneously.
- The ability to develop solutions to problems that have not previously been solved and will be expected to critically evaluate information from multiple sources to come to an appropriate decision.
- The ability to prioritize tasks and approach duties in a flexible manner.
- Ability to relate diplomatically with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills.
Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with disability law.
- Familiarity working with emerging adults in an educational setting.
- Experience working with individuals with disabling conditions.
- Customer service experience.

Pay
Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually
