About the role

The Disability and Survivor Benefit Division seeks to fill an Analyst II position within the Disability Retirement section. This position analyzes, processes, and determines eligibility for Disability Retirement (DR) and Industrial Disability Retirement (IDR) benefits. Additionally, the section handles reinstatement from DR/IDR retirement, working after retirement requests, reevaluations, and unlawful employment cases. The unit also develops and delivers training curriculum to support onboarding and ongoing development of new and existing team members on section processes, while providing section-wide internal training and support.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, processes, and determines eligibility for Disability Retirement (DR) and Industrial Disability Retirement (IDR) benefits.
  • Handles reinstatement from DR/IDR retirement, working after retirement requests, reevaluations, and unlawful employment cases.
  • Develops and delivers training curriculum to support onboarding and ongoing development of new and existing team members on section processes, while providing section-wide internal training and support.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience contributing to a successful team environment by building and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Experience preparing and communicating information to an audience, including how you have trained others and explained complex information in clear, simplified steps.
  • Experience investigating and analyzing information or situations, identifying problems, and developing effective solutions. Experience mapping processes and writing procedures.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of disability retirement and industrial disability retirement processes.

Pay

$6,031.00 - $7,547.00 per month.

Schedule

Hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.
