The CNC Programmer must be capable of making programs for plasma and laser cutters to cut shaft and detail material. This individual will determine the sequence of machine operations and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into desired shapes. The CNC Programmer will revise programs to eliminate errors and test these programs to check that problems have been resolved. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Creates nest sheets for plasma tables using nesting softwareUses CAD files to produce material cut sheetsReviews all CNC drawingsReviews heat numbers on cutsheets, making sure they match ERP and bill of ladingsOptimizes material usage using nesting softwareAudits material inventoryAnalyzes job orders, drawings, blueprints, and specifications in order to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed ratesDetermines reference points, machine cutting paths, or hole locations, and computes dimensions and curvatures REQUIREMENTS FOR CNC PROGRAMMER: High School Diploma or equivalent preferredAbility to interpret blueprints requiredAbility to read a tape measure requiredCNC Programming experience preferredExperience using plasma machines, nesting software, and Autocad preferredRegular, reliable attendance is required We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information.
