About the role

This position involves providing programs for CNC punch presses, CNC laser, and CNC press brakes to manufacture parts according to production plans and quality standards. It also includes collaborating with engineering and planning/procurement departments to ensure efficient operations and timely completions.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret prints and solid models.
  • Use Solid Works file packages to generate CNC code for punches and bends from solid works models.
  • Reduce setup and punching/bending times through process improvements.
  • Manage, maintain, and deploy tooling when developing programs.
  • Generate setup sheets.
  • Provide feedback and input into process improvement within the department.
  • Write programs for new products ensuring compliance with all quality policies, solid models, prints, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
  • Ensure input and output department files are completed in a timely manner.
  • Recommend improvements to reduce production costs while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Program, organize, log, update, and maintain new and existing part files to the latest revision level.

Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • An Engineering degree is a plus.
  • At least 5-10 years of sheet metal experience.
  • Prefer at least 3 years operating a turret punch press.
  • Prefer at least 2-5 years’ experience in programming in Tumpf or related CNC software.
  • Experience with Solid Works is required.
  • Experience with Solid Works PDM is preferred.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is required.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematic computations such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to apply to practical situations.
  • Knowledge of shop math, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Familiarity with quality standards (ISO9001).
  • Ability to effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written.
  • Ability to interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and advise solutions regarding machining, work holding solutions, and speeds and feeds.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow department and company policies.
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively with employees in other departments.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written directions.

DOE: $25.00 - $33.00 Per Hour

Schedule

1:00 PM to 9:30 PM. (This is a temp-to-hire with the eligibility of full-time permanent placement.)
