Typical Day
- Create and maintain CNC programs for sheet metal fabrication equipment utilizing CAD/CAM software.
- Develop efficient nesting layouts to maximize material utilization and reduce scrap.
- Program laser cutting, turret punch, combination punch/laser, and press brake equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications.
- Verify manufacturability of designs and provide feedback to engineering on design improvements.
- Generate setup sheets, tooling requirements, and operator instructions.
- Optimize machine run times and improve production efficiency through continuous program refinement.
- Support first-article inspections and troubleshoot fabrication issues on the shop floor.
- Collaborate with estimators to provide accurate manufacturing cycle times and material requirements.
- Maintain revision control of programs, manufacturing documents, and process records.
- Aid in the implementation of automation technologies, robotic systems, and advanced manufacturing processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality and production issues.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and quality requirements.
- Train operators on program usage, setup procedures, and best practices as needed.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years of CNC programming experience in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as: JetCam, Amada 4i, Inventor, SolidWorks, Similar manufacturing software platforms.
- Experience programming CNC laser cutting, turret punch, and press brake equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and fabrication blueprints.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and manufacturing methods.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.

Pay
